Sandals Regency La Toc

After having visited all 3 Sandals Resorts on St. Lucia, I can safely say this all-inclusive gem ranks as one of my favorite Caribbean escape destinations. The Regency La Toc property is simply unlike any of the others.
Located on a massive 220 acre nature reserve, it features a half-mile private cove beach. The Oceanview Bluff Villas are perched along the coastline offering unparalleled views of the ocean and sunset, while the beachfront suites are steps away from the water’s edge.
That said, when you stay at the Regency La Toc, you also get full access to the nearby Sandals Resorts. This means 27 total restaurants, 11 pools, and 3 beaches to choose from! For golf lovers, free greens fees and transfers are included to the Cap Estate Country Club.
Overall, there is a ton of value packed into a stay at the Regency La Toc. Of the 3 Sandals locations in St. Lucia, it’s also generally the most affordable.
The Beach
It’s really hard to beat the secluded private cove beach at Sandals Regency La Toc. For me, that feeling of having the whole beach to yourself is priceless because it’s so difficult to find at other Sandals resorts.
The soft white sand is perfect for a relaxing walk or just lounging under the sun. Right behind the beach is the patio from the pool that also has a row of chairs directed out toward the ocean that you can relax in.
I must also admit that the water is a stunning shade of blue, especially when peering down from the bluffs on the west. On the east side of the beach you will find all the water activities like snorkeling, paddle boarding, kayaking, and scuba training.
- The Beach: The beach is tucked back in its own private cove for maximum seclusion. The gardens lining the beach create a beautiful backdrop with their lush greenery for an idyllic St. Lucian oasis!
- Waters: The Caribbean waters here are absolutely beautiful and crystal clear. It’s very calm most of the time. If the winds are coming from the northwest, small waves can roll in, but it was never an issue for us.
- Activities: Unlimited water activities like PADI certified scuba diving, snorkeling, paddleboarding, hobie cats, kayaking, and more. There is also beach volleyball if you want to dig your toes into the sand.
- Beach Bar: Neptunes is situated right on the shoreline and is great for grabbing tropical cocktails and snacks while overlooking the turquoise waters.
- Lounging: There are two tiers of lounge chairs along the beach with umbrellas for shade. The friendly staff is very attentive to anything you need and we never had an issue getting loungers to use.
- Beach Cabanas: Private cabanas are available on the beach and come with personal butler service for the day. Note that these are an additional cost.
- Sunsets: The sunsets on the west coast of St. Lucia are known for their glowing pink and orange hues. The cool thing here is there is a viewing deck and restaurant (Armando’s) out on the bluffs specifically for watching the sunset.
Restaurants & Bars
There are 9 world class restaurants and 8 bars throughout Sandals Regency La Toc offering mouth watering dishes that will leave you wanting more. Every restaurant has a unique theme so you are sure to find the perfect setting for any craving.
Importantly, you get full access to the neighboring Sandals Grande St. Lucian and Sandals Halcyon Beach, which means you can dine at 27 different restaurants in total.
Expert Tip: For special occasions, I recommend a private candlelight dinner on the beach or at a location of your choice throughout the resort. It comes with a four course meal, complete with a white table cloth setting and flower arrangements. For only $199 per couple, it’s definitely worth it!
Here’s a breakdown of the restaurant options at Sandals Regency La Toc:
- Armando’s: This restaurant is located on the backside of the bluffs, and provides THE best viewing spot for sunsets. It does also offer breakfast and lunch with a full menu to pick from. Armando’s serves up amazing Tuscany inspired dishes like parmigiana di melanzane and gnocchi alla sorrentina that are to die for. The mood is pretty casual and you do not need reservations.
- La Toc: I loved the elegant setting at La Toc with a dash of romance. The classic French cuisine was exceptional with dishes like roasted duck à l’orange and escargot, all paired with the perfect wine selections. Note that they require a reservation and resort evening attire dress code because it is a little more formal here.
- The Pavilion: The Pavilion offers food service all day in a wide open space with 50 ft vaulted ceilings that offer great views of the pool and ocean. Breakfast and lunch feature an impressive buffet with some a la carte plates. Dinner has a nice menu to choose from and runs from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM. There are no reservations required here and the dress code is casual.
- The Pitons: The Pitons Restaurant is tucked back behind in the beach in an open air, circular dining room that provides panoramic views. We really enjoyed the authentic Caribbean cuisine here that focuses on local meats and produce. I highly recommend the Green Fig & Codfish Salad and the Tamarind Pork Tenderloin.
- Kimonos: Dining at Kimonos was a fun experience with the Japanese hibachi-style cooking. The sizzling shrimp and teppanyaki chicken were my favorites. The two story building is perched above the water on the coastline which creates a very cool ambiance. Dinner here is from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and requires a reservation in advance.
- The Cricketer’s Pub: The Cricketer’s Pub is a classic British pub with a laid back atmosphere. perfect for grabbing a drink. Traditional fare like fish and chips or bangers and mash was a hit. The nice thing is it’s open until 2:00 AM so it’s perfect for late night drinks.
- Bella Napoli Pizzeria: Bella Napoli has some of the best woodfired pizza I’ve ever tasted. The pies were thin, crispy, and made to order with whatever ingredients you want. It has a nice outdoor seating terrace that’s perfect for a quick bite during the day.
- Neptune’s: With its beachside location, Neptune’s has stunning views and fresh seafood. You can walk right up from the beach and grab a bite for lunch and dinner. The grilled snapper and calamari were outstanding. It’s an ideal spot for a romantic dinner with the sound of the waves in the background, especially at sunset.
- Soy: Soy is in the same building as Kimonos and offers very tasty sushi rolls and sashimi. The seared tuna tataki was my favorite of all the dishes we tried. It was fun to watch your sushi get prepared in front of you while having the backdrop of the ocean. Reservations are not required for dinner here and the dress code is resort casual.
- Herbie’s Piano Bar: Located next to the Pitons Restaurant is Herbie’s Piano Bar. Here you will have a live piano player every night and you can also do karaoke if you want! It has a large bar and is open late so it’s the best spot if you want a more lively atmosphere.
Pools
Sandals Regency La Toc has three pools and three whirlpools throughout the property. The large main pool in the center of the resort offers beautiful views of the ocean and has a more lively atmosphere than the other pools. There is also a cool rock structure that has cascading waterfalls.
Our favorite pool was the Sunset Bluff pool that is located out on the peninsula. This pool is a little more low key and has a nice swim-up bar with music to relax at. There are plenty of lounge chairs with the best views of the Caribbean out of the entire resort.
The third pool is the Piton Pool which is located by Herbie’s Piano Bar. This is the smallest of the three, but still is a lot of fun since it has a large lounge with live piano music.
Fresh towels and concierge service is available at all the pools. Remember that the exchange program with nearby Sandals Resorts means you get access to all of the other pools just a short trip away.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the pool amenities at Sandals Regency La Toc:
- Main Pool: The large pool located at the center of the resort is with a more upbeat vibe and whirlpool right next to it.
- Sunset Bluff Pool: My personal favorite pool, which is located up on the top of the bluffs and provides stunning views of the Caribbean.
- Piton Pool: The piton pool is located next to the Piton Restaurant and also has a Piano Bar that is great for late night entertainment.
- Swim-up Bars: All three pools have a nice swim-bar where you can sip cocktails without ever leaving the water.
- Private Pool Suites: Get your own private pool sanctuary if you stay in the Millionaire Suites or Rondoval Suites.
- Scuba Pool: There is a small scuba pool located on the east side of the beach. Here is where you have the scuba instructions.
- Shared Privileges: You also have access to all pools at neighboring Sandals Grande St. Lucian or Halcyon Beach!
Things To Do
The great thing about Sandals Regency La Toc is it has so much to do that you can stay on the resort property the whole vacation, check out the nearby Sandals Resorts, or step out to explore everything St. Lucia has to offer!
Since this resort is rather sprawling, there are inter-resort transfers that will take you from the main lobby to the different sections of the resort. This is a really nice feature that cuts down on a ton of walking time.
Activities At The Resort
When I’m staying at a Sandals, relaxing on the beach or lounging by the pool are my top priorities. But there are seemingly endless activities here at Sandals Regency La Toc. From scuba diving to beach volleyball, there’s something for everyone.
For all the golf lovers, greens fees and transfers to the Cap Estate Golf & Country Club are also included. This 18 hole course located along the rolling hills of Gros Islet offers panoramic views of the ocean.
Here are all the activities you can do at Sandals Regency La Toc:
- PADI Certified Scuba Diving: The scuba diving program is a fantastic way to explore the St. Lucian coastline while exploring some of the best dive sites in the Caribbean like the Anse Chastanet reef. If it’s your first time, just take a short 3 hour course in the training pool before you go for an open water dive.
- Unlimited Water Sport: Whether it’s snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboarding, windsurfing, or hobie cats, there’s something to tickle your fancy.
- Free Golf: Free greens fees to the Cap Estate Country club, which is just a short drive away and transfers are included. Note that if you want a caddy or a golf cart it will cost you about $20, but other than that everything is free.
- Tennis Courts: There are several tennis courts in the back of the resort and you can get complimentary training if you want.
- Group Fitness Classes: There are daily group fitness classes on the weekdays, including water aerobics, couples stretching, kickboxing, yoga, and plenty more. The schedule for all classes can be found online for the different options.
- Fitness Center: The state of the art fitness center is open 24/7. There are free weights, machines, ellipticals, treadmills, and everything you need for a nice workout.
- Beach Volleyball: Enjoy a fun game of beach volleyball on the white-sand beach.
- Land Activities: A lot of other land based activities like shuffleboard, bocce ball, billiards, lawn chess, table tennis, and more.
Relaxation And Spa
There’s potentially nothing better than a relaxing couples massage when you’re on a romantic retreat with your partner. The Red Lane Spa at Sandals Royal Regency La Toc serves up a variety of treatments in an utterly tranquil setting.
I highly recommend the signature Tropical Paradise Couples’ Massage that is located either on the beach or in one of the tropical gardens. The masseuse will customize your treatments according to what you want, and they cap it off with a champagne toast at the end.
Remember to book your massages or treatments in advance since availability can be limited.
- Massages: There is a variety of massages to choose from, whether for couples or individuals. The Tropical Paradise Massage or Himalayan Salt Stone is the most popular couples massage.
- Spa Treatments: The Red Lane spa offers more than just massages. You can get treatments including body wraps, facials, hydrotherapy, and aromatherapy.
- Body Scrubs And Facials: The natural body polishes and scrubs will exfoliate your skin to make it silky smooth. These are treatments like lemon body polish or the Caribbean glow treatment.
- Manis and Pedis: Enjoy a professional nail treatment that will leave your hands and feet fresh for date night and out on the beach!
- Wedding Packages: Many of the wedding packages come with a couples massage included. Feel free to message me with questions!
Off-Site Adventures
Exploring the area around Sandals Regency La Toc is a great way to experience Saint Lucia’s beautiful scenery and vibrant culture. The good thing is that all of these excursions can be booked at the Island Routes desk right in the main lobby or ahead of time on their website.
Here are my top five picks for off-site adventures around the resort:
- Soufriere And Piton Mountain Adventure: Take a cruise to explore the Pitons and stop at the legendary Sulphur Springs to take a rejuvenating mud bath. After that you can plunge into the Toraille Waterfalls. The cruise also includes an amazing creole lunch with fresh seafood and appetizers. If there is one excursion you take, I highly recommend this one! The cruise costs $145 per person and can be booked right at the Island Routes desk at the resort.
- Pigeon Island National Park: This beautiful spot is about 30 minutes drive away and is located right next to Sandals Grande St. Lucian. It’s perfect for a day trip to the park and relaxing at the Grande St. Lucian. You can enjoy a hike with amazing sea views or explore historical ruins. The entry fee is only $10.
- Friday Night Street Party In Gros Islet: Every Friday night there is a street party in Gros Islet that features local food (mainly barbecue) and music. It’s free to wander and check out local fruits, spices, and crafts. It’s a fun way to see everyday life and pick up some authentic souvenirs.
- Marigot Bay: A short 20-minute drive leads you to the famous Marigot Bay via an offroad Jeep where you will then explore the bay in a kayak. This is a great spot to adventure through untouched mangroves and enjoy a nice meal with a view. This excursion will start at about $100 per person, but everything is included.
- Rainforest Zip-Line Adventures: For those who love nature, you can do a treetop zip-line course over the lush rainforest canopy. There is also a net bridge that is a challenge to walk across. Prices start around $110 per person. It offers exciting views and a chance to spot local wildlife.
Nightlife And Live Music
The resort comes to life at night with lights that show off the property and the shoreline. There is also a lot of entertainment and activities to participate in.
You’ll find parties around the pool and beach every night. Some of our favorites were the Reggae Night, Caribbean Night, and the live music performances. There is a schedule for the themed parties so you can see if anything catches your eye. The shows typically start around 8:30 or 9:00 PM.
As far as late night options, The Cricketer’s Pub is open until 2:00 AM and has live music, drinks, and snacks. My favorite spot was Herbie’s Piano Bar though. There is a live piano every night with a very lively crowd.
If you feel like stepping out a little, Treasure Bay Casino or the clubs in Rodney Bay are a good time. Also, the Friday Night Street Party in Gros Islet is a blast.
Rooms And Suites Available
There are 22 different room categories that cater to everyone’s preferences and budgets. In all, Sandals Regency La Toc has 323 rooms varying between Luxury Level, Club Level, and Butler Level. The Regency La Toc actually has the most rooms and categories out of all the St. Lucian Sandals Resorts.
We stayed in the Sunset Oceanview Bluff Butler Villa, which is one of the coolest rooms in all of the Sandals Resorts. You get your own private pool sanctuary that overlooks the Caribbean and provides stunning ocean views. That said, all accommodations will include the ultimate 5-star luxury experience that Sandals is known for.
Luxury Level Rooms: The Sandals Luxury Level rooms are entry level accommodations that provide elegant and comfortable essentials. This room category will include things like a private balcony with tranquility tub, king-size bed, smart TV, and a fully stocked mini bar. They are still very nice with great views (pool, tropical garden, or oceanview), but without additional amenities like elite butler service or private pool sanctuaries. Luxury Level rooms are ideal for those seeking 5-star service without breaking the bank.
Club Level Rooms: Club Sandals Level rooms offer all the Luxury Level benefits with added perks and services. Most will have some combination of their own semi-private pool, beachfront views, private balconies, or walk out patios. These rooms are generally Junior Suites with a fully stocked bar of premium liquors and access to the Club Sandals Lounge.
Butler Elite Level Suites: The Butler Level suites include a 24/7 private butler to tend to all your needs. These will have the highest price, but many times the rooms are absolutely stunning. For example, the Oceanview Bluff Villas or the Rondoval Villas here are absolutely beautiful and provide the best ocean views on the whole property. With most of these you will get a private courtyard with a pool sanctuary for unmatched privacy. It also comes with added perks like exclusive in room dining, VIP airport transfers, and more.
Included Amenities
Sandals Regency La Toc redefines the term “all-inclusive” with an extensive list of offerings. When I look at all of the included activities, dining options, excursions, and luxury amenities, the price is more than worth it for our vacation!
Remember that you have full access to all the Sandals in Saint Lucia (Sandals Grande St. Lucian and Halcyon Beach) just a short transfer away. There are transfers from the resort every hour until about midnight.
Let’s unpack everything that is included:

- Stay At 1 Play At 3 Program: You get full access to the restaurants, beaches, pools, and activities at both Sandals Grande St. Lucian and Sandals Halcyon Beach. This is like getting three vacations in one!

- Day And Night Entertainment: Festivities every night from fire dancers to Caribbean beach parties. Our favorite is Cabaret night that featured a lively gatsby style show. Make sure to look at the event schedule so you don’t miss out!
- 5-Star Service: All of the staff members we interacted with here are so friendly and helpful, which is why this resort is one of the most revisited of all the Sandals Resorts. The butlers greet you by name and even prepare a bath when you return from your day’s activities, and plenty more!
- Airport Transfers: Free transfers both to and from the airport are included.
- Top Shelf Wine and Spirits: Top shelf selections of wine and spirits like the Appleton Estate Rum and Twin Oaks are available. Your room will come with a fully stocked bar as well

- No Tipping Policy: Last but not least, extra gratuities are not allowed! The only exception is if you want to tip your butler, but that is not required or solicited. I love this policy because it makes for a stress free vacation. Everything is included upfront, and then you are free and clear.
Keep in mind that there are many extras available if you choose to do some of the a la carte experiences. For example, couples massages, private candlelight dinners, excursions and adventures can be arranged in advance. Just message me for details!
Where It's Located
Sandals Regency La Toc is nestled in Castries along the northeast coast of St. Lucia. The resort is located approximately 60 minutes from the Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) on the south side of the island. Although the drive is a bit longer than some of the Sandals resorts, it cruises through the heart of St. Lucia, offering beautiful sightseeing along the way. Importantly, the airport transfers are always included regardless of the room accommodations.
The good news is that Sandals Regency La Toc is the closest to the airport out of all the three St. Lucian Sandals, which will save you some commuting time on both ends of your trip.
Since St. Lucia is relatively close to the US, flight times are shorter than for some of the more southern Caribbean Islands. For example, flights from Miami to Hewanorra operate daily and are only about three and a half hours long.
Pro Tip: There is a private helicopter transfer from Hewanorra to the resort that takes only 11 minutes and costs about $200. We did this one time and it was definitely worth it in terms of time, but also because it is like an aerial tour of the whole island as you fly over the beautiful landscape.
Romantic Getaways
Sandals Regency La Toc is tailored specifically for weddings, anniversaries, and honeymoons. Afterall, there is a reason why Sandals Resorts is consistently rated as the top all-inclusive destination for honeymooners over the last 40 years!
As a Certified Sandals Specialist who has planned thousands of romantic Caribbean escapes for happy couples, I can tell you that La Toc will not disappoint.
To start, it’s hard to beat the adults-only experience for you and your loved one. Second, the accommodations at Sandals La Toc are some of the more affordable that Sandals offers, which leaves more flexibility in your budget for extras like couples massages, romantic catamaran cruises, or candlelight dinners on the beach.
Remember you get a free honeymoon package if you go to a Sandals within 1 year of your wedding date that includes:
- Sparkling champagne toast upon arrival for the newly wed couple
- Special turndown service for the first evening complete with flower petals on your bed
- Special breakfast in bed for any morning that you choose
Additionally, you get a free night by simply staying 7 nights or more in a butler or club level suite if it’s within 30 days of your wedding anniversary! After you make your booking, you need to submit your wedding certificate to indicate your wedding was within 30 days of your stay. Then the night will get automatically deducted from your total!
For destination weddings, there are two beautiful wedding gazebos located out on the beach and in the center of a beautiful tropical garden. And for a backup plan, there is also a spacious event room in case of bad weather on your special day! You can also get group booking discounts for wedding parties that book five or more rooms.
