Sandals Grenada

When dreaming of an idyllic Caribbean escape, Sandals Grenada fits the bill perfectly. We recently visited this Sandals resort so we can share the inside scoop on what you can expect.
Nestled between the lush Granadien rainforest and the Caribbean sea, this adults-only, all-inclusive resort promises a romantic getaway with a mix of luxury.
From gourmet dining to water sports and entertainment, everything is designed to pamper guests without the hassle of additional charges.
The Beach
When we visited Sandals Grenada, we expected nothing less than a picturesque beach, and thankfully, the resort delivers just that on Pink Gin Beach.
The long stretching beach here is postcard-perfect with soft white grains of sand that melt under your foot. We love setting up loungers and taking in the view of turquoise Caribbean waters.
Being that the resort is located on the Southwest tip of the island, the calm and clear water begs to be swam in. The surrounding water is partially enclosed with rocks, which makes the sea feel like a personal swimming pool.
Here’s a quick glimpse of what to expect when you post up on the beach:
- Beach: Private, pristine, and picturesque.
- Loungers: Ample (so you don’t have to worry about losing yours if you go for a swim) and comfortable.
- Water Sports: Kayaking, paddleboarding, and snorkeling, right off the beach.
- Water: Crystal clear, calm, and warm.
There are also a couple of beachside bars to ensure that a refreshing drink is never too far away. But not to worry, because the awesome staff will deliver food and drinks right to you as well!

There are also six unique bars, including a swim up bar at the main pool and a beachside bar. The other side of the resort will have evening entertainment and live music.
Private candlelight dinners on the beach are also available if booked in advance. Note that these are an extra charge.
Pools
There are a total of five extraordinary pools at Sandals Grenada, each offering a unique experience.
The main pool is the center of the resort, featuring a swim-up bar where you can sip on tropical drinks without ever leaving the water.
It’s expansive and lively, ideal for those of us who enjoy socializing and participating in poolside activities.
For a more serene experience, you can gravitate towards the quiet pool, aptly named for its tranquil atmosphere by the gardens.
Here, the sounds of cascading waterfalls create a peaceful backdrop, perfect for relaxing with a book or taking a nap.
Lastly, the zero-entry pool is another highlight.
The easy sloping entrance mimics a natural beach, making it easy to wade into and cool off from the warm Caribbean sun.
Things To Do
The nice thing about staying at Sandals Grenada is you would never have to leave if you didn’t want to. There are so many choices when it comes to staying entertained.
Sports At The Resort
Hit the water with activities like kayaking, paddle boarding, windsurfing, and snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters. You can snorkel right off the beach and see some tropical fish.
If you want to check out the underwater world, Scuba diving is also a complimentary. The team is very professional and knows all the best spots to see turtles, sharks and beautiful reefs.
For a change of pace, you can also go to the tennis courts (free lessons included), play beach volleyball, or unwind with a yoga class.
Relaxation And Spa
Those of us looking for a more laid-back experience can head to the resort’s spa.
While there is an extra service charge, the massage and facials are definitely worth it – especially the couples massage. They are set up in the most tranquil setting.
Off-Site Adventures
If you want to adventure off the resort, there are a few activities that we highly recommend.
- The Underwater Sculpture Park: The world famous underwater sculptures were created in 2006 after the bay was badly damaged by a storm. You can either scuba or snorkel as they are only a few meters under water. The experience was incredible, and a little eerie at the same time.
- Island Catamaran Cruises: The island catamaran cruises are a great way to cruise the coast and see everything Grenada has to offer. Our personal preference was the sunset cruise, but they are all great!
- Levera National Park: This 450 acre park has one of the most spectacular coastal scenes in Grenada. A pristine beach and a lagoon are absolutely beautiful. It is also a hot spot for bird watching
- Rainforest Hikes: We did a half day tour that went to a nutmeg farm (because Grenada is the spice Island afterall) through the jungle to see several waterfalls and the monkeys.
Room And Suites Available
There are several room categories that cater to everyone’s preferences and budgets. In all, Sandals Grenada has 250 luxurious rooms in separate villages.
For example, we stayed in a swim-up suite, but here are the different room levels to choose from:
Luxury Level Rooms: The Luxury level rooms are entry level rooms with amenities such as a king-size bed, smart TV, and in-room refrigerator. These rooms are ideal for guests who appreciate stylish accommodations without needing additional frills.
Club Level Rooms: Club Level rooms include the Luxury Level offerings with added concierge services. These rooms have a fully stocked bar with premium liquors and access to the Club Sandals Lounge.
Butler Level Suites: If you want to spring for the ultimate luxury experience, Butler Level suites have a personal butler to tend to your every need.
There are also many premium Rondoval suites with their own private pools that are very popular.
Included Amenities
All-inclusive resorts are nice because they are… all-inclusive. Sandals is no exception, but they go a step beyond in my opinion. Whether opting for a simple luxury room or the extraordinary butler suite, you will get access to the resort’s comprehensive all-inclusive offerings.
Here’s what actually included:
- Luxury Accommodations: The rooms and suites strike a fine balance of elegance and comfort. Some of the suites feature their own private plunge pool!
- Unlimited Dining And Drinks: With multiple gourmet dining options, all-inclusive is taken to the next level. From local flavors to international cuisines, you choose which restaurant you want.
- Water Sports: The range of included water sports is extremely large. Options include PADI certified scuba diving and snorkeling, windsurfing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and more!
- Land Sports: Enjoy tennis and tennis training from a certified instructor. There is also beach volleyball, shuffleboard, pool tables, and the list goes on 🙂
- Entertainment: There is always music and festivities going if you are so inclined. Beach party night is a blast. There are also fire eaters and live music.
- Service: The team is clearly dedicated to providing a friendly and attentive service. If you go with the butler service, you can request anything you want at any time of day!
- Airport Transfers: Hassle-free transfers to and from the airport are included.
- In-Room Wine and Spirits: A selection of premium wines and spirits are stocked right in your room.
- Private Cove Beach: The beauty of the private cove beach is just steps away from your luxurious accommodation.
- Fitness Center: There is a really nice and new fitness center here. There are also actual fitness classes, but we did not take any. We were too busy on the beach.
- No Tipping Policy: Last but not least, no tipping is allowed! Indulge in whatever you want without the need for extra gratuities. This creates a laid back atmosphere, but more importantly, you wont get any extra fees or charges at checkout.
There are also amenities that are offered, but not included. These are things like the on-site spa, beach cabanas, candlelight dinners, and local tours.
Where It's Located
Sandals Grenada is situated only 10 minutes from the Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND) so there is no minimal wasted with long transfer times. Once we passed through customs and exited the airport, the transfer car was waiting for us. The resort itself is located on the very southwest tip of the island.
There are several non-stop flights to Grenada from major cities in the United States and Canada. The flight is not too long either. From Miami, the flight is just over 3 and a half hours.
Romantic Getaways
Sandals Grenada is routinely winning awards for being one of the most romantic resorts. Nestled on the stunning Pink Gin Beach, its adults-only policy makes for a perfect getaway for couples and honeymooners.
Honeymoons: Couples basking in the glow of their new union are greeted with a special welcome including a bottle of chilled sparkling wine to toast to their future. Rooms with tranquility soaking tubs for two set the stage for relaxation and romance.
Anniversaries: Celebrating a milestone can be just as exciting as those first blissful wedding days together. The resort offers a renewal of vows packages, so you can reaffirm your love in paradise, complete with a photo session to capture the magic.
For honeymoons or those special anniversaries, the complimentary Honeymoon Package adds thoughtful extras like a romantic turndown service, breakfast in bed, and a honeymoon dinner to ensure memories are as sweet as the island’s breeze. I might also suggest a couples massage at the spa to get the mood going.
