There are plenty of considerations when it comes to choosing the perfect room for your next Caribbean vacation. The good news is Sandals has several room options to choose from across all price points.
Some people say the room doesn’t matter too much because they don’t plan on spending a lot of time in it anyway! On the other hand, some folks really want the beautiful beach views, premium suites, and butler service.
We’ll compare each category, including Club Level, Butler Level, and Luxury Level so you can select the best option for the occasion and your budget!
Sandals Room Categories
Sandals Resorts was specifically created for couples in love to provide the best all-inclusive experience at every budget. There are three different room and suite categories at Sandals Resorts:
- Luxury Level: Entry-level rooms with standard amenities that are ideal for tighter budgets.
- Club Level: Mid-tier rooms that offer added amenities like concierge assistance, lounge access, and room service.
- Butler Level: Premium suites that have dedicated butlers and offer a luxury experience with 24 hour room service, private activities, personalized itineraries, and top-shelf liquor.
Luxury Level Overview
Sandals Luxury Level has entry level rooms that are perfect for those who want 5-star accommodations but on a tighter budget. I talk with a lot of people that don’t put a huge emphasis on the room category, just as long as they are at the resort! If that’s you, the Luxury Level is ideal. It really comes down to your personal preferences.
This category still includes premium features like a private balcony, tranquility soaking tub, large king-size bed, smart TV, walk-in showers, and a fully stocked mini bar. One of the main differences is they will generally have views of the tropical gardens or pools. Sometimes you can even get a room with partial ocean views for cheap.
The upside is that you still get full access to all of the resort amenities like unlimited food, drinks, water activities, airport transfers, and more. One of the primary downsides is that there is no room service offered for this category level.

Who It's Best For
Luxury Level rooms are best if premium views, butler service, or room service are not super important to you. You are able to get fantastic room options for the lowest prices possible.
Club Level Overview
Club Level rooms include all the benefits of Luxury Level rooms but with some additional perks. These suites will have better views and unique layouts. Most of the Club suites feature large private balconies, spa-style bathrooms, larger floor plans, beachfront walkouts, or swim-up access. A big upside is that you also get an exclusive room service menu available between 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM.
Importantly, you have access to the VIP Club Sandals Lounge that has a concierge, premium drinks, and snacks. When you check-in you get a private concierge that’s waiting with a cocktail and is ready to make the process seamless from the second you arrive until you get to your room. They will also give you a tour of the property so you know your way around.
Throughout your stay, you can use the concierge service in Club Sandals to assist with any reservations, spa treatments, or general questions. We relied on them for all of these things and they are super helpful! The club itself is open 24 hours but the staff is there between 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM. It’s also just a fun spot to hangout and we have met a lot of great people there throughout the years.
Although Club Level rooms can be more expensive than the Luxury Level rooms, it’s typically not by much. For me, having the added amenities and nicer accommodations at an affordable price is the best of both worlds. It would be hard to go back.

Club Level rooms are ideal if you prefer a more high touch experience with concierge service and room service, while staying in higher end accommodations. Since it’s in between the Luxury Level and Butler Level, you get the best of both wolds without over spending.
Butler Level Overview
For those wanting the ultimate in luxury and tranquility, Butler suites are for you. Butler Level offers the most exclusive accommodations, 24 hour room service, dedicated butler service, private check-in, private airport transfers, and the best room locations. You also get full access to the Club Sandals VIP lounge.
As the name suggests, a personal butler is there to wait on your beck and call throughout the day. You are able to fill out your specific butler preferences before arrival so they know exactly what you’re looking for. Each butler is trained by the Guild Of Professional English Butlers so they are absolutely top notch at anticipating what you need without getting in the way.
Upon arrival, the personal concierge will greet you with a warm towel and a glass of champaign. Here you will also be introduced to your butler who will show you around the resort while your bags are being transported to your suite. The butlers will even unpack and press your clothes for you! Once checked-in, you will get a smartphone to communicate directly with your butler between approximately 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM.
Aside from the butler service, the Butler Level suites are all one of a kind. You can enjoy exotic suites like Overwater Bungalows, Skypool Suites, Rondoval Suites, Seaside Bungalows, Swim-Up Suites, and more. This is where you can get suites with private pools for maximum privacy. If you are in a suite that is secluded from the beach or a restaurant, you can simply call your butler to have them come give you a ride in the golf cart.
I do really love the butler suites because they are all so unique. Having the butler is the cherry on top. They are not the cheapest, but for special occasions or if you have a higher budget, you will have an unforgettable time!

Key Differentiators
- Service Level: Club Level offers private concierge service in Club Sandals, while Butler Level offers a dedicated butler that will help with unpacking your luggage, restaurant or excursion reservations, holding beach or pool loungers, and much more. Essentially anything you need. Butler Level also has access to Club Sandals. Luxury Level rooms do not have access to Club Sandals.
- Room Types: Luxury Level rooms will be entry level rooms with pool or garden views, while Club and Butler Suites will feature beach front and ocean view options. They will also have unique accommodations like Overwater Bungalows, Rondoval Suites, Swim-Up Suite, Skypool Suites, and more. Butler Level suites can also have private pool sanctuaries.
- Room Service: Luxury Level does not offer room service while Club and Butler Levels both offer room service. Club Level has a room service menu available between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM. However, with Butler Level rooms you can order room service 24 hours a day and also order meals off any of the restaurant’s menus as well.
- Amenities: All Sandals rooms will have a broad range of in-room accommodations. However, Club and Butler Level have an entire premium bar with wines, spirits, beers, juices, and sodas – which are restocked every day if needed. Butler Level guests and request things right down to the number of pillows and how firm or soft you want your pillows!
- Airport Transfers: Butler Level rooms will have private transfers and even boat transfers at Sandals St. Vincent. Locations like Royal Bahamian and Royal Barbados offer transfers in Rolls Royces. Other rooms levels also have airport transfers but they are in shared vans.
- Dining: Priority for reservations will be given to Butler and Club Level guests. This is generally not an issue, but if there is a shortage of seating, they are given preference. Butler Level can also have private dinners right from the privacy of their own suite.
- Check-In: Club Level will have access to the concierge in Club Sandals to offer a seamless check-in. Butler Level will have a private check-in with champaign and where their bags can also be unpacked once they get tot he suite. Luxury Level will check-in at the front desk in the main lobby. Note you can check-in online in advance to help save time.
- Price: In general, Butler Level rooms will be the most expensive. There are exceptions to that though. Some Butler Level rooms at locations like Sandals Ochi, Sandals Royal Plantation, or Sandals Regency La Toc can be less expensive than Club Level suites at other locations. Club Level rooms are a great mid level option for great value without needing a huge budget. That said, it heavily depends on which specific Sandals location you choose and which specific room you pick within the categories as the prices can vary significantly. For example, an Overwater Bungalow Suite can cost $3,000 per night while a Poolside Butler Villa Suite at Sandals Ochi can cost $500 a night.
Which Room Type Is Best
The overall best value for me is typically Club Level rooms because you get the best of both worlds without breaking the bank. Private concierge service, lounge access, and room service are included – but you don’t have to pay up for the Butler Level experience.
That said, for special occasions like honeymoons, anniversaries, or birthdays, the butler suites are absolutely worth it. You can’t beat the personalized service and top tier suites. For the ultimate in luxury, Butler Elite is the way.
If you are the type who is more self sufficient and wants to stay on a tighter budget, you can’t go wrong with a Luxury Level room. After all, regardless of which room category you choose, you will always have unlimited food, bottomless drinks, water sports, scuba, snorkeling, golf, land sports, airport transfers, and daily entertainment.
