The idea of having a private Caribbean sanctuary with your own butler is most appealing! Rondoval Suites are exactly that – the ultimate in luxury and seclusion. After staying at all of the Rondoval Suites that Sandals has to offer, I fell in love with the open floor plan concept with a private pool that’s ideal for special romantic occasions.
Rondoval Suites are available at 9 Sandals Resorts: Sandals South Coast, Sandals Dunn’s River (both located in Jamaica), Sandals Grande St. Lucian, Sandals Halcyon Beach, Sandals Regency La Toc (all three located in St. Lucia), Sandals Grenada, Sandals Royal Curacao, Sandals Royal Barbados, and Sandals Grande Antigua.
The suites at Dunn’s River and La Toc also feature a rooftop sky terrace where you can relax or even gaze at the stars through your telescope. The South Coast location also had swim-up access right to our suite which was a cool feature. That said, it’s hard to go wrong with any of them. Sandals South Coast is home to 20 Rondoval Suites in their Rondoval Village. Because they were just completed a few years ago in 2021, they still feel like new. That said, they are also the most affordable Rondoval Suites at Sandals, right in line with Sandals Grande Antigua.
The most unique aspect of the Rondoval Suites here is they have swim-up access to the river pool! In addition, you have your own private pool that is secluded behind a privacy wall.
Once you step inside, the 20 ft tall conical ceilings and open floor plan make the suite feel extremely spacious. I really appreciated the soaking tub in the bathroom in addition to a spacious walk in shower. Not to mention the fully stocked bar of premium liquor and wine. Best of all, you get access to your own personal butler and 24 hour room service.
Overall, South Coast is stunning for its 2 mile stretch of white sand beach. The Ronodoval Village is just a short walk to the restaurants, mail pool, and the beach. Also keep in mind that this resort offers motorized water sports like skiing or wakeboarding, which is not the case for all Sandals Resorts. The vibe at South Coast is more laid back than the other locations, but that was just perfect for us!

Sandals Dunn’s River is my favorite resort in Jamaica because they just completed a top to bottom renovation on the property so everything is brand new. There are two styles of Rondovals here. The first is the traditional Rondoval with a swim-up access, called the Coyoba Villa. The second type is also a swim-up suite but with a rooftop terrace (Coyoba Sky Villa) so you have a whole second floor with full dining set, loungers, and soaking tub.
We stayed in the Sky Villa Suite and I highly recommend having your butler create a candlelight dinner on the rooftop under the stars. There’s even a telescope to look at the stars!
The interior has an oversized king bed with spacious living area. There is direct access from the bedroom out to the private pool sanctuary.
There are only 12 Rondoval Suites at Dunn’s River, 5 of the Sky Villas and 7 of the swim-up villas. The Sky Villas are a little more expensive at around $850 per person per night, and the swim-up suite is about $600 per person per night.
Also note that when you stay at Dunn’s River you also get full access to the neighboring Sandals Ochi so it’s like two vacations in one!

Sandals Grande St. Lucian is positioned on it’s own peninsula right in Rodney Bay, which offers stunning panoramic views of the lush mountains in the distance. This also means that you practically get the whole peninsula to yourself, and can take a short 20 minute hike out to Fort Rodney and Signal Peak. The beach itself is a stretching white sand oasis without any pebbles or rocks that are somewhat common on other St. Lucian beaches.
The unique aspect of the Rondoval Suites here is they are the only ones that have direct beachfront views and their own private pool and jacuzzi. The Rondovals in Antigua are located right on the beach, but they do not have their own pool sanctuary. There are also suites at the Grande St. Lucian that do not have the beachfront view that are a little more affordable.
We stayed in one of the Rondovals that are located on the very south of the resort property so it’s relatively secluded, and the beach is literally steps from the door. It was the perfect blend of privacy with open views of the beautiful surroundings. Best of all, you get access to all three Sandals in St. Lucia when you stay here!

Putting the Rondoval Suites aside, St. Lucia is my favorite Caribbean island because of it’s unique landscape. The Piton Mountains are unlike anything you’ll see in the Caribbean. Scuba diving and snorkeling around shipwrecks and colorful coral is an unforgettable experience. Sandals Regency La Toc is the furthest south of all 3 Sandals in St. Lucia so it’s closest to the Pitons and Soufriere.
There are two different types of Rondoval Suites here. One is the Sky Villa that has rooftop terrace complete with loungers and a dining set. The second type is the conical roof that does not have a second floor terrace. These are a little less expensive than the Sky Villas. Both have a private pool sanctuary and 24 hour butler service though.
The Rondoval Village at La Toc is located in the back of the resort property. The upside is that all the Rondovals were just completed in early 2025 so they are effectively brand new. The downside is that they are about a 5 minute walk from the beach depending on which specific suite you get. Note that golf cart transfers around the property are available for butler suite guests though!
As previously mentioned, if you stay at any Sandals in St. Lucia, it means you get full access to the other 2 resorts they have in St. Lucia. This means 29 restaurants in total, free golf greens fees, and plenty more.

Sandals Halcyon Beach was one of the more laid back Sandals we stayed at. But the overall vibe and design of the resort was a welcome reprieve. A fun fact is that the idea of Rondoval Suites at Sandals was born in St. Lucia as inspired by the mountainous peaks on the island.
The Rondoval Suites are located on the north end of the property, which is secluded from the rest of the buildings, but you are still just a few feet from the beach. The interior is a classic white with rich wooden accents. The french doors from the living area open directly to a spacious private pool sanctuary outside. There was even a cool claw footed soaking tub on the patio.
Halcyon Beach is located in the middle of the other two Sandals locations in St. Lucia so you can do easy day trips to either one to enjoy the amenities. Transfers to all the resorts are going all day, just schedule it with your butler ahead of time.

If your’e looking for the ultimate in luxury, look no further than Sandals Royal Barbados. This is a suite only resort, so all of the accommodations are top notch. From the rooftop pool to the bowling ally, you won’t be disappointed. On top of that, we got picked up in a Rolls Royce from the airport!
The interior layout of this Rondaval Suite comes with nice mahogany accents, a soaking tub, walk in shower, and premium wet bar. The exterior patio felt a little bigger than some of the others we stayed at. There’s a nice zero entry private pool with fountain, lounge chairs, and dining table. It is all completely surrounded with a privacy wall and palm trees so you don’t see any other guests while in your suite.
Another nice thing with Sandals Royal Barbados is you also get access to the neighboring Sandals Barbados. That means you have 20 restaurants to choose from, and it is just a 5 minute walk right next door. It also means the you have a huge stretch of the famous Dover Beach all to yourself.

Sandals Grenada has more of a chill vibe relative to other locations. The sand of Pink Gin Beach was also absolutely pristine. This was one of my favorite beaches, especially if your’e looking for an exotic escape with cliffs and coves lining the coast.
I really liked the outdoor area at this Rondoval Suite. The pool stretches right from the glass french doors of the suite all the way to end of the patio with zero entry access. There is a fountain with a big whirlpool in the corner. And there’s still room for a full dining set and two loungers.
The stone flooring of the patio flows right into the interior of the suite which makes it feel a lot more open. When it comes to the bathroom, it’s like you have a personal spa because the it has a huge soaking tub for two, and a walk in shower, with his and her vanities.
The only drawback is that the Rondoval Village is located toward the back of the property, so it is about a 5 minute walk to to the beach, which wasn’t necessarily a deal killer. On the plus side, there are plenty of palm trees and tropical foliage throughout Sandals Grenada to make it feel like you are really in a secluded escape.

Sandals Grande Antigua is home to the longest beach on the entire island. The water there is perfectly calm, making it perfect for leisurely swims. The last time I had gone to the Grande Antigua, it candidly felt a little outdated, but thanks to a massive renovation over the last two years, essentially all of the resort has been updated and feels like a modern resort.
Importantly, there are two different Rondoval Suite options at Sandals Grande Antigua. The first option is a traditional Rondoval Suite with a private pool sanctuary. The second option is a Rondoval Suite without a private pool, but it is right on the beach with amazing oceanfront views.
So it really comes down to whether you prefer a private pool or a beachfront view, which is a difficult decision! The Beachfront Rondoval is actually slightly less expensive, in fact, it is the least expensive Rondoval of all the Sandals aside from South Coast in Jamaica.
That said, all of the Rondovals are relatively close to the shoreline, so you are steps away from the beach either way. The tropical gardens at the Grande Antigua a very vibrant, and they surround the entire village, making it the idylic Caribbean paradise.

Sandals Royal Curacao underwent a major renovation in 2022, which also included the addition of the Asombroso Rondoval Suites. Since these suites are practically new, the design is a little different then the others in that they feel more modern. The outdoor patio includes a spacious private pool, soaking tub, shower, loungers, and dining set.
Inside is adorned with minimalist furniture in the living areas, and an oversized king bed. While the bathroom features a sleek double vanity with another soaking tub, and walk in shower.
Although the Rondoval Village is not directly on the beach like a couple of other Sandals, they are just steps from the sand so you do not have to walk far. For golf lovers, you also get free greens fees to the attached 18 hole course, the Old Quarry. Overall, we found the Royal Curacao to be an elegant retreat with the two level infinity pool and one of a kind desert topography that leaves you wanting more.
Getting Deals On Rondoval Suites
Staying in a Rondoval Suite doesn’t have to break the bank! I found plenty of ways to make your booking as affordable as possible. Below are my favorite tips so you can get the best deals when staying in your Rondoval Suite.
- The Sandals 777 Deal: The 777 Deals are specials that update every Wednesday featuring 7 new rooms. I have seen Rondoval Suites available on the 777 deal many times, which would allow you to get an additional discount off the retail price!
- Travel during low season: Having flexibility with travel times leads to big savings during the low season. Generally March to November you will still get plenty of sunshine, albeit with higher average precipitation, but you’ll be able to get lower prices at Sandals and on flights.
- Military discount: Active and retired service members get an additional 10% discount off your booking.
- Online bookings: When you simply book online you can get instant credits up to $1,100, depending on the resort and how long you are staying.
- Seasonal sales: There are frequently sales like Black Friday and other seasonal sales throughout the year that offer big savings on Rondovals. Any ongoing sale will automatically apply the discount at checkout.
- Split your stay: You can split your vacation by staying 3 or 4 nights nights in a Rondoval Suite and the remaining nights in a different room category that is less expensive.
