Budgeting For A Honeymoon
The allure of all-inclusive honeymoons is that after you book your vacation, you can practically leave your wallet at home. Still, people often ask me how much does a honeymoon cost? The honest answer is there’s no one size fits all because it depends on the time of year, number of nights, the destination, and specific accommodations.
In general, the average all-inclusive honeymoon will cost between $5,000 – $10,000 per couple, including airfare. There are several budget options where we can get the cost under $3,000 though. On the other hand, we have also helped clients get glamorous luxury honeymoons in villas with private pools for over $50,000.
Here are my top tips to get the best deals:
- Time Of Year: Book during low season (June – November) versus high season (December – April). Shoulder seasons in between offer the best of both worlds.
- Last Minute Deals: Last minute deals offer the opportunity to fill gaps in unused occupancy where you can get big savings – typically within 3 weeks or less.
- Destination: Locations like Jamaica, St. Lucia, or the Bahamas are known for budget friendly all-inclusive packages with cheap flights. Places like the Maldives or Hawaii are significantly more expensive and take much longer to get to than the Caribbean destinations.
- Resort Specific Deals: Resorts like Sandals have the 777 deal and military discounts. Check the different resort’s current promotions to see if you can apply additional discounts to your honeymoon.
- Number Of Nights: The average honeymoon is 7 nights, and resorts typically have better discounts or perks when you book for 5 or more nights.
- Room Category: Choosing a lower priced room category is an easy way to save. Some folks figure they won’t be inside too much anyway, so you can spend less on the actual room.
A lot of our clients don’t know about these deals or are unsure how to find them! Don’t leave money on the table. Feel free to contact us to make sure you get the absolute best deal for your honeymoon.

It didn’t take us long to see why Sandals Grande St. Lucian is always voted a top honeymoon destination. The resort sits on this little peninsula with beautiful panoramic views – you see the entire glistening bay with lush rainforest in the distance from just about everywhere. It’s easily the most romantic place in the Caribbean we’ve stayed at.
I love the amount of things you can see and do on one small island. We hopped on a catamaran cruise down to the Piton Mountains and it felt like we were teleported to Hawaii, except it’s much easier and cheaper to get to! Then on the north side you have pristine white sand beaches like Rodney Bay where the resort is located.
Whether you want to be more active or lounge under thatched umbrellas on the beach, they do a great job creating private, intimate spaces for everyone. My wife and I were able to disconnect, relax, and enjoy the tranquility of nature here. Not to mention how warm and inviting the staff is.
The best part is having access to the other two Sandals Resorts on St. Lucia. Transfers are free (each about 20 minutes away) and it feels like you’re getting three vacations in one! We took a day trip to Regency La Toc to hang out and grab dinner at Armando’s for the sunset, which was incredible.
Overall food quality is a stand out, especially for an all-inclusive resort. I have no complaints after trying a new restaurant almost every night. A heads up that you do need to make reservations for a few of them (Gordon’s, Kimonos, and Bombay). You can do that while you’re there, or in advance on the mobile app or by calling the Culinary Concierge Desk at the resort.
Why We Love Sandals Grande St. Lucian:
- The best value for your money in St. Lucia.
- Private white sand beach that stretches for over a mile.
- There are a ton of amazing restaurants (over 27 across the three resorts).
- Unlimited top-shelf drinks at 7 bars and a swim-up bar.
- Free watersports like scuba diving, snorkeling, skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, paddleboarding, and more.
- Unmatched nightly entertainment with live shows, performances, and parties.
- One-of-a-kind accommodations like overwater bungalows, Rondoval Suites, Swim-Up Suites, and more.
- Free golf greens fees at the Cap Estate Country Club.
- Full access to the other two Sandals Resorts in St. Lucia.
- No tipping, no fees, and airport transfers included.
Honeymoon Package Details:
Sandals offers a free honeymoon package with some champagne, a nice breakfast in bed, special turndown service with flower petals, and a few other touches. As long as your honeymoon is within one year of your wedding date, you just need to submit your wedding certificate or save the date invites. You can also sometimes get free nights, bigger discounts, and resort credits if you stay 5 or more nights.
Who It’s Best For:
Sandals Grande St. Lucian is perfect for couples who want to experience a 5-star adults-only resort in an idyllic tropical paradise without breaking the bank. The natural beauty of the location lends itself to romantic settings that are ideal for a honeymoon.

Sandals Ochi is our top choice for a honeymoon that won’t break the bank. Don’t be fooled by the price because this is still a 5-star resort that has unmatched inclusions.
The natural beauty of the Ocho Rios area is a perfect backdrop for passionate retreats. I’ve been here four times now and I never get tired of the green mountains with cascading waterfalls. The resort itself sits inside a 100 acre tropical paradise full of colorful flora and botanical gardens. There’s plenty of private areas when you want to lay low, but also plenty of activities when you’re in the mood for action.
We went to the Ochi Beach Club several times during our stay. It’s perfect for a more upbeat vibe – right on the beach with live music, a pool, and swim-up bar. It closes kind of early at 6 PM, but the other spots like Tapas On The Riviera are open until 5 AM which is perfect for late-night bites.
Here’s an important hack though. You get full access to the neighboring Sandals Dunn’s River, which is the newest Sandals in Jamaica (and more expensive). We went there two times to enjoy the pool and beach, then enjoy the really nice restaurants. It’s only 10 minutes away and transfers are included.
The crazy thing is you can get packages at Sandals Ochi that start at $2,900 for 7 nights per couple. That covers airport transfers, all meals and snacks, top-shelf drinks, scuba diving, and even free golf at the Upton Estate Country Club. No tipping allowed, which was nice.
I highly recommend it if you want a great Sandals honeymoon without spending a fortune. We had a wonderful time.
Why We Love Sandals Ochi:
- My favorite overall budget honeymoon package.
- 17 world-class restaurants (29 including Dunn’s River)
- Bottomless drinks at 11 bars and 3 swim-up bars.
- Pristine white sand beach with Ochi Beach Club.
- Unlimited watersports like snorkeling, scuba diving, snorkeling, Hobie Cats sailing, paddleboarding, kayaking.
- Glass bottom boat tours
- Top-notch entertainment with beach parties, live shows, concerts, and more.
- Free golf at Upton Estate Country Club.
- Full access to Sandals Dunn’s River next door.
- No tipping, and airport transfers are included.
Honeymoon Package Details:
Packages here are consistently under $4,000 per couple for a 7 night honeymoon – including airfare. If you don’t want to include airfare, packages can be as low as low as $2,900 for 7 nights. That can of course vary depending on the room level and number of nights. As long as you are staying within one year of your wedding, you also get the free supplemental honeymoon package which includes extras like champaign upon arrival, breakfast in bed, and a special turndown with flower petals.
Who It’s Best For:
Sandals Ochi provides the best value when it comes to honeymoon packages. The resort is one of the least expensive all-inclusive resort in Jamaica, but it still offers luxury accommodations and huge value when you consider everything you get.
3. Jade Mountain
SOUFRIERE, SAINT LUCIA
Cost Per Night/Per Couple:
From $2,250
Number Of Restaurants:
1 Restaurant
Distance From Airport:
23 Miles
Number Of Bars:
2 Bars
Resort Vibe:
Exclusive
Number Of Pools:

For couples seeking the ultimate in exclusivity, look no further than Jade Mountain in St. Lucia. My wife and I spent 5 nights in this architectural marvel, and thankfully they have a promotion where you get the 5th night free to make it more affordable. We were a little nervous if it would be worth it given the price tag, but it definitely lived up to the hype.
The resort only has 24 different suites they call “sanctuaries” which are split into 5 different categories: Sky, Star, Moon, Sun, Galaxy. All of them have open air designs with the most incredible views of the Piton Mountains. They also all have private infinity pools, with the exception of the Sky Suites.
We stayed in a Sun Sanctuary where you have an expansive balcony offering 270 degree vistas – you’re truly immersed in the surroundings. There’s no fourth wall, it’s completely open with no windows either! You sleep in a canopy bed with netting draped down at night. Fortunately there were no problems with insects. The downside is that it can get a little hot with no AC and you can hear some noise around the property.
There are a few options when it comes to dining. The main restaurant is the Jade Mountain Club which is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Dishes are prepared by Chef Alan and his team, I have to give a shoutout to them. You are able to get a private meal setup inside your sanctuary by your butler. We did this one night where they delivered a 6 course meal right to our room.
You also have access to their sister resort Anse Chastanet just a short walk away (or they have a shuttle). There are several more restaurants and bars that are solid options for lunch and cocktails. They also have two more beaches to relax on.
Why We Love Jade Mountain:
- Incredible views of the Piton Mountains from every suite in the resort.
- Private infinity pools in each sanctuary except the Sky Suites.
- World-class dinning from a James Beard Award winning chef (4 restaurants including Anse Chastanet).
- Unlimited drinks and house wine.
- Two exotic white sand beaches with full service staff.
- 24 hour dedicated butler service.
- Activities like snorkeling, sailing, paddleboarding, kayaking, wind surfing, yoga, and guided walks.
- Tour the part of the estate where cocoa is grown and visit the Chocolate Lab to see how it’s turned into chocolate.
- Full access to Anse Chastanet next door.
- Airport transfers are included. You can get a helicoptor transfer for about $500 per couple.
Honeymoon Package Details:
Jade Mountain has two honeymoon packages. The most popular is the all-inclusive Total Romance Package. This includes accommodations, food, drinks, and airport transfers – but also tons of activities like a Swedish couples massage, tours of the sulphur springs and mineral baths, boat snorkeling trip, scuba diving, a half-day yacht sailing, and more. They have deals where you can get the 5th night or 7th night for free. For example, this package starts at $11,500 for 5 nights depending on the suite you choose (this price is for the they lowest tier Sky Suite without a private pool).
The other package is the Yin & Yang Package where you stay 3 or 4 nights at Jade Mountain and 3 or 4 nights in Anse Chastanet. You get all of the inclusions of the Total Romance Package, but this way it’s a little cheaper to be able to not stay all 7 nights at Jade Mountain. The package starts at $15,000 depending on the combination of suites you choose.
Who It’s Best For:
Staying at Jade Mountain is definitely an expensive, once-in-a-lifetime kind of place, but if you want ultimate privacy and those jaw-dropping views for your honeymoon, it’s hard to beat.
4. Sandals Royal Barbados

Rolls Royce airport transfers? Now that’s how to start your honeymoon in style! It’s just one of the many luxurious inclusions when staying at Sandals Royal Barbados. We were through customs and on the beach in less than 30 minutes.
This recently completed 5-star resort is made up entirely of modern Suites. My favorite is the Crystal Lagoon Swim-Up Suites that have access to the pool directly from your patio (you can get these in both Club and Butler Level options). There are also Beachfront Skypool Butler Suites with private infinity pools on the balcony overlooking the Caribbean – those looked incredible.
We booked a Butler Level suite which comes with a dedicated butler and 24 hour room service. I love the butler service here because they are actually trained by the Guild Of Professional English Butlers. Most other resorts with “butler service” really just have a concierge running around to help you, but not here! They are so good and anticipated our needs before we even knew what we wanted.
One big plus is having access to Sandals Barbados right next door (literally a two minute walk). We went back and forth a few times to try different restaurants and enjoy their more laid-back beach and pool area. Having the two resorts to choose from provides great optionality.
Although it’s not the least expensive, it’s definitely worth it for special occasions like honeymoons when you look at everything that’s included!
Why We Love Sandals Royal Barbados:
- An all-suite luxury resort with modern amenities.
- Sublime white sand beach with silky soft sand.
- The rooftop infinity pool with lounge and restaurant are amazing.
- 21 incredible restaurants to choose from each with different themes.
- A bowling alley with lounge called “Lovers Lane”.
- Full access to all amenities at Sandals Barbados next door.
- Free glass bottom boat tours.
- Included water activities like scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, paddleboarding, and kayaking.
- Land sports like beach volleyball, tennis, pickleball, yoga, fitness classes, and more.
- Nightly entertainment like fire dances, live music, beach parties, and more.
- Airport transfers are included. You can get a Rolls Royce transfer when booking Butler Elite suites.
- No tipping or surprise fees.
Honeymoon Package Details:
Honeymoon packages at Sandals Royal Barbados start at $355 per person/night and can go up to $995 per person/night for the Butler Elite Suites. Therefore, a five night honeymoon would be priced at $3,550 in a Club Level Suite, and go up from there depending on the suite type and time of year. Regardless of which suite you choose, it will come with every inclusion that Sandals offers. Additionally, you can add a supplemental free honeymoon package that includes special touches like a bed turndown service with flower petals upon arrival, a champaign toast when you check-in, and breakfast in bed, plus a few other little details (as long as your honeymoon is within one year of your wedding).
Who It’s Best For:
Sandals Royal Barbados is ideal for couples seeking a more luxurious resort with modern and upscale amenities. It’s very popular for honeymoons due to the unique butler suites, private infinity pools, Rolls Royce transfers, and romantic touches like private candlelight dinners.

Antigua is famous for having over 365 beaches, so to claim the top spot for the best beach here is an impressive feat. Dickenson Bay is world-renowned for having a mile long powdery white sand beach with glowing turquoise waters. This is where you will find Sandals Grande Antigua.
In my opinion, it’s the absolute top pick for restaurants, water sports, and a lively atmosphere. Especially for honeymooners where having barefoot beach getaway is the number one priority.
The resort features two distinct villages, a Caribbean beachfront village and a secluded Mediterranean village. The beachfront suites offer up-close views of the shoreline, while the Mediterranean suites are more secluded with penthouse vistas. Either way, you’ll be able to find room options ranging from very affordable to luxury butler suites with private pools.
For me, the Caribbean Rondoval Suites are the way to go. We had our own thatched roof villa right on the beach. You wake up and see the beautiful Caribbean. There’s also a patio that’s essentially on the beach but secluded with bushes where we sat and enjoyed the sunset nearly every night.
Why We Love Sandals Grande Antigua:
- Widely considered one of the best beaches in the world (definitely in Antigua).
- Get a private candle light dinner on the beach or spot of your choice.
- Two different villages with distinct feels so you can find the perfect room for your budget.
- 11 specialty restaurants from local Caribbean favorites to hand rolled sushi.
- 7 bars to choose from including a swim-up bar at the main pool.
- Free watersports like snorkeling, hobie cats, kayaking, and paddleboarding.
- Scuba diving outings twice a day.
- Land sports like pickleball, tennis, beach volleyball, and more.
- Top notch night and day entertainment.
- Couples massages at the Red Lane spa.
- Roundtrip airport transfers and no tipping.
Honeymoon Package Details:
Honeymoon packages at Sandals Grande Antigua start at $280 per person/night and can go up to $787 per person/night for the Butler Suites. You will also get an additional free honeymoon package with your booking that includes details like a champaign toast when you check-in, a bed turndown service with flower petals upon arrival, and breakfast in bed.
Who It’s Best For:
Sandals Grande Antigua is best for couples that are seeking an idyllic white sand beach in an exotic tropical setting. Dickenson Bay is consistently voted a top beach in the world due to its pristine shoreline and shallow, calm, azure waters.

Having lived along the Riviera Maya in Mexico for 7 months we got to see all of the best all-inclusive resorts up close. Out of all the adult only options, Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres in Cancun ended up being our favorite.
I especially like the sophisticated design of the property because it was just opened in 2025. All the rooms are spacious suites, with options at different price points for everyone. We love the look of the swim-up suites and the beachfront Imperial Suite With Private Pool.
It’s important to distinguish between the regular suites and the Excellence Club Suites. The drawback is that some amenities are only for the Excellence Club members unlike other all-inclusive resorts where you get all of the benefits regardless of the room type.
If you pay extra, you have access to more options like exclusive pool access, private beach area, different restaurants and bars, upgraded room service, and private check-in. So it makes a meaningful difference! We typically upgrade to the Excellence Club to get access to the entire resort – it costs around $100 extra per night.
The beach here is very nice and wide. There are plenty of loungers with umbrellas so we never had issues getting a place to sit. Since the resort is 10 minutes away from the main Cancun Hotel Zone it’s much more tranquil too.
Why We Love Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres:
- Everything is included with the exception of airport transfers and gratuities.
- You need to pay extra for the Excellence Club but then you have access to additional perks.
- The resort has a fresh and modern ambiance because it’s relatively new.
- 11 specialty restaurants and 7 bars to choose from.
- Activities like pickleball, tennis, yoga, fitness classes, water polo, water aerobics, and more.
- Watersports like snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding.
- Solid nightly entertainment.
- Outside of the main tourist zone so it’s more private.
Honeymoon Package Details:
Honeymoon packages at Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres start at $650 per couple/night for basic suites and go up to $1,200 per couple/night for the Excellence Level Suites. You can also get an additional free Honeymoon Package that includes a fresh basket of fruit and sparkling wine upon arrival, a special romantic dinner, a special bed turndown service, breakfast in bed, and 15% off any photo package or spa treatments.
The upgraded Signature Honeymoon Package includes everything as the regular package, but with a candlelight dinner on the beach followed by a private bubble bath, a 40 minute couples massage, and special turndown service every evening. This package costs $950 however you can get it complimentary with stays of 6 nights or more in an Excellence Suite.
You must have your honeymoon within 3 months of your wedding and provide the wedding certificate at check-in. Make sure to request the packages when you book your stay.

For couples in search of dreamy beaches without traveling far from the USA, look no further than Nassau. Sandals Royal Bahamian is right on the infamous Cable Beach and even has its own private offshore island, which is pretty unique for somewhere so close to home.
The resort has been nicely renovated with an elegant European style design. The suites are huge, with some unique options like swim up rooms and private butler villas. We loved the amazing views of the Caribbean straight from our balcony.
There are 12 different restaurants and 8 bars. The dining here is notably good, and that’s coming from someone with high standards. My wife and I especially enjoy snorkeling, so it’s a perfect spot to see sea turtles, colorful reefs, and even a nurse shark on one outing (only about 30 meters out).
The big plus is it’s super easy to get to. Flights from Miami are only about 45 minutes and the resort is just 15 minutes from the airport! We were able to find roundtrip tickets for only $200, which made it a quick and cheap getaway.
Why We Love Sandals Royal Bahamian:
- The Bahamas are the closest exotic destination to the USA. It’s only a 45 minute flight from Miami.
- 5-star luxury service with fantastic accommodations and friendly staff.
- A private offshore island that is only a 2 minute boat ride away.
- Free Mini Cooper to go explore Nassau if you book a Butler Level suite.
- 12 restaurants including 2 tasty food trucks.
- Unlimited snorkeling and scuba diving.
- Very good nightly entertainment.

A lot of people ask me about overwater bungalows for their honeymoons. My favorites are at Sandals Royal Caribbean where they have both Overwater Bungalows and Overwater Villas attached to a private offshore island.
The Overwater Villas are slightly bigger with their own infinity pool. Both have glass bottom floors, private terraces, and overwater hammocks. The large ocean-facing doors completely open up so you’re engulfed by the glowing turquoise waters.
Unlike some other overwater bungalows, these are very private. The only way you might see a neighbor is if you’re down on the very bottom deck. Specifically, Bungalows 6 – 10 face directly out to the Caribbean and all 5 of the Villas also do. You’ll have amazing views regardless though.
We loved the boujee treatment. Dedicated butlers are at your beck and call. There’s also a private BMW transfer from the airport with VIP fast-track service through customs.
The experience is much cheaper and easier to get to than places like the Maldives. Flights to the Maldives typically take over 24 hours – a huge chunk of your well deserved honeymoon time! Flying down to the Caribbean takes just a few hours for the same (if not better) experience for a fraction of the price.
Why We Love Sandals Royal Caribbean:
- My top choice for overwater bungalows – other top choices include Sandals St. Vincent, Sandals South Coast, and Sandals Grande St. Lucian.
- One-of-a-kind private offshore island with beach club, pool, and pristine beaches.
- Just completed a massive renovation in 2026 so everything feels brand new.
- A more secluded and intimate vibe that’s perfect for honeymoons.
- Full access to all amenities at the neighboring Sandals Montego Bay. That means 21 restaurants, 11 bars, and 14 pools to enjoy.
- Flights from Miami to Jamaica are only about 1 hour and 45 minutes and the resort is only 10 minutes from the airport (flights are also very cheap to here).
Honeymoon Package Details:
The packages at Sandals Royal Caribbean start at $305 per person/night for entry level Luxury Rooms and go up to $2,500 per person/night for the Overwater Villas. Honeymooners that visit within 12 months of their wedding will also enjoy an added complimentary package with things like a champaign at check-in, a special turndown service with flower pedals, and breakfast in bed on a morning of your choice.

Punta Cana is a top destination for all-inclusive honeymoon resorts – after scouring the options, our top choice is the Melia Punta Cana Beach. It’s located on Bavaro Beach where the water is nice and calm because it’s protected by coral reefs. They clean the beach every morning so it’s free of sargasm and debris.
A big differentiator is Melia really emphasizes mental and physical wellness as part of the vacation package. There’s a full calendar of activities like yoga, paddle board aerobics, and meditation. Dining follows a similar theme with detox cocktails and vegetarian/vegan options.
One thing to keep in mind is “The Level” suites open up more amenities throughout the resort. You get a premium suite, access to a private pool, an upgraded continental breakfast, access to the Quimera restaurant (a cool rooftop), and a complimentary 30 minute massage when you stay for 5 nights or more.
If you don’t get The Level suites, it can be a little challenging to find a spot around the pool and beach unless you get there early. That’s why it can be worth it – in addition to the other extras it includes. You also have access the family oriented resort next door Melia Caribe Beach which has several other pools, restaurants, and entertainment (you can only do this with The Level wristband).
The Melia Punta Cana Beach was a perfect retreat for us. It’s laid back but has plenty of options to stay active, especially if you get the Level upgrade.
Why We Love Melia Punta Cana Beach:
- The beach is nice and clean, but there can be a fair amount of foot traffic and vendors.
- We enjoyed the physical and mental wellness retreat vibe with daily yoga, crystal singing bowls, bicycle rides, beach volleyball, ice baths, painting classes, and more!
- The Level Suites give you access to a private beach and pool area, restaurants, and to the neighboring Melia Caribe Beach Resort.
- There are 14 restaurants with different themes from local favorites to Vietnamese and everything in between.
- The main pool is enormous and right up on the beach. The other 3 pools around the resort are more tranquil though.
- Get a 50% discount on the greens fees at Golf at Cocotal Country Club (only $105 for 18 holes and $65 for clubs).
Honeymoon Package Details:
The packages at Melia Punta Cana Beach average $515 per couple/night depending on if you choose a regular room or The Level Suites. Note that airport transfers and tipping are not included here like many other all-inclusive packages.
Who It’s Best For:
Melia Punta Cana is perfect for honeymoons centered around an adults-only wellness retreat. Located on the popular Bavaro Beach with palm trees lining the shoreline, this idyllic Caribbean oasis is a romantic setting for couples on a budget.
